For those of you following along at home from outside the Irish Cultural Center here in Canton, MA, today saw both our women's footballers and our men's hurling team tog out for the first day of USGAA Finals.
The women's football team played first at 12:00pm against Boston's Seán Óg club in the Junior C division. The women put in a hard performance against a strong opponent, netting three goals throughout the contest. In the end though, it wasn't enough to get the better of their Boston opponents. A bit later at 1:30, the men's hurlers took the field against Philadelphia's Na Tóraidhe. Despite a strong second half performance and a brace of goals, the Gaels fell just a bit short of moving on to the next stage of the competition.
Our men's footballers take the pitch tomorrow at 4:00pm.
